Hoffman Pinwheel Star

This is the Hoffman Pinwheel Star quilt that I just finished.  It was a block of the month from Adel Quilting and Dry Goods last year.  It was designed by Jacque Johnson, owner of the shop.  Michele Pettorini has just finish quilting it and now I am in the long and arduous process of binding it.

News from AQS (American Quilters Society)

I received a letter from AQS yesterday and both of my quilts, Supernova (Bargello) and Cactus Flower have been chosen as Semifinalists for the Des Moines Expo.  They will be displayed with 230 other quilts from 41 states and 7 foreign countries.  I feel very honored that they were chosen to be included in the contest.  I now must put sleeves on them and get them ready for the trip to Paducah, Kentucky.  The show is the end of September.

Row Robin

This is the Row Robin that we started 1 year ago at Susan"s Calico Creations.  6 people in a group and each make 5 blocks and send it on to the next person.  You can have a theme or suggestion for the blocks.  I sent some of the fabrics along.

Supernova

This is a Bargello quilt that I made this past winter.  It is made of Batiks that I found in Hancocks of Paducah's catalog as a fat quarter bundle.  So all I had to do was buy 4.  I have entered it to be in the Quilt Expo in Des Moines.  I will be honored if it is even selected to be in the show.

Garden Twist

I made this quilt a in 2010. I have always admired the pattern and fell in love with the peony fabric and so this quilt was born.  I taught the class for Jacque at Adel Quilting last spring.

Cactus Flower and French Braid

I made this from fabric hand dyed by Kate Hardy of Ames, IA.  She did a wonderful job.  It was quilted by Michele Pettorini of Des Moines, IA.  It won Best of Show at the Adel Quilting and Dry Goods Quilt Show some years ago.
The Quilt below is called French Braid.  I made it for my daughter and son-in-law's 10th wedding anniversary.  It was also quilted by Michele Pettorini.  Meridith took the picture at a park in Wisconsin.
